Lorenzo hello and thank you, shooting a astrograph Takahashi refractor of 106 mm in diameter and 530mm focal length f / 5 and Canon 60D of CentralDs (cooled with a Peltier, about 30 degrees less than the environment)

Can you recommend a telephoto lens or a telescope with which to begin to photograph the remote sky? for example I'd like to photograph the Orion Nebula, I tried it with a canon 80-200mm (goal cheaply) and the result was quite disappointing (be forewarned, however, that I have not used a tracker star, in fact I had to keep a shutter speed 2.5 seconds and iso ball, was just a quick test, but I need something with higher magnification).
More watching on Juza some photos of Orion, I saw some pictures taken with other 200mm, and you see much larger (without multipliers), and I do not know if it is the lens or other .... :-(
anyway thanks in advance :-)

Hello Lorenzo
from my experience, if you want to get good results with goals, you have to apply a very clear methodology depending on your equipment.
For photos in large field, using dell'astroinseguitore, use only goals to 24mm and 50mm, with 24mm open at f4 and ISO setting in 3200-6400 with exposures of 30 seconds I have not moved with the 24mm and the 50 arrival at up to 10-14 seconds.
Beyond that if you want to get a focal dis clay image you have to use a astroinseguitore, because to be able to stand the object serve minutes of exposure.
A 200mm focal length and ISO 1600, it placed 3 minutes.
What camera do you use?

I currently use a Canon 1100D, however, I definitely would use a astroinseguitore for long exposures, B, but I wonder if you'd know you recommend a telephoto lens or a telescope, because my 200mm does not fit, it does not have a suitable zoom, and as I said I saw Orion pictures taken at other 200mm and you could see much, much bigger.
This is the link to the photos I uploaded temporarily, maybe makes it a little more the idea:

www.juzaphoto.com/galleria.php?l=it&t=2111852

As you can see to be a 200mm enlarges very little, so I need something else.
Thanks for your patience :-)

Sorry if I meddle ;-)

because my 200mm does not fit, does not have a suitable zoom, and as I said, I saw the Orion pictures taken on other 200mm and you could see much, much bigger.

Your 200mm is fine (incidentally, with the canon of the aps-c sensor crop factor go to 320mm), you just take a photo of the crop.
To get a great Orion nebula throughout the frame should use 500-600mm focal least.
Telescopes there are many but the discussion is not immediate as a goal.
Sorry again meddling. I leave the floor to the "landlord" ;-)
