In Namibia ho visto quest'anno anch'io un gruppo di gruccioni ad una pozza nel parco Etosha tuffarsi ripetutamente e completamente sott'acqua per cibarsi di qualche insetto o larva (dal colore giallognolo). non credevo ai miei occhi, sembravano dei martin pescatori. evidentemente è un comportamento tipico della specie, poco conosciuto
