Big Ben (the actual name of the bell that chimes) has been silenced for the next FOUR years as the whole tower and Houses of Parliament requires major repairs, costing millions of pounds. So, I do pity visitors who travel from afar who will find ugly scaffolding instead - but the alternative is not worth considering - and the clock will still be working and showing the correct time for the entire period.
