Tuesday the weather was bad, and apart from a distant heron and a small kestrel, I could not find anything interesting to photograph. The swallows were flying low and I took the opportunity to try this almost-impossible mission: the swallows are not only fast, but they trajectories seemingly meaningless. With the trusty 400 5.6 I armed myself with holy patience and I tried the same technique as clay pigeon shooting. I was aiming for a central and followed it with the hope that came to me, but no, there was nothing to do to keep the fire to the 7D ... then I mounted the 70-200 2.8 II and I realized what it means to a point double cross fire fast and accurate, no longer has missed a shot! I chose this photo because it brings out the beautiful line and color that characterize these birds. Ultimately, I can not imagine what we can get out of a 400 2.8 and a bit of handle ... ;-) Grazie a tutti per i complimenti :-)
Martedi la giornata era brutta e, a parte un airone rosso lontanissimo e un piccolo gheppio, non trovavo nulla di interessante da fotografare. Le rondini volavano basse e ne ho approfittato per provare questa mission quasi-impossible: le rondini non solo sono velocissime, ma hanno traiettorie apparentemente senza senso. Con il fido 400 5,6 mi sono armato di santa pazienza e ho provato la solita tecnica da tiro al piattello. Ne puntavo una con il centrale e la seguivo sperando che venisse verso di me, ma niente, non c'era niente da fare per far tenere il fuoco alla 7D...allora ho montato il 70-200 2,8 II ed ho capito cosa vuol dire un punto a doppia croce: fuoco velocissimo e accuratissimo, non ha più sbagliato un colpo! Questa foto l'ho scelta perchè mette in risalto la splendida linea e colori che caratterizzano questi volatili. In definitiva, non oso immaginare cosa si possa tirar fuori da un 400 2,8 e un pó di manico...;-) |
