Stefano

Taking this photo was true and pure emotion, Juliet! I was 65 meters high and the cold wind was freezing and I was enjoying an immense panorama and waited for the shadows of the Aqueduct arches they just stretched the underlying lane highways.
The Águas Livres Aqueduct is a colossal building (1731 - 1748) that it supplied water to the city of Lisbon until 1973. True masterpiece of art, is the work in the world's tallest stone. He withstood the devastating earthquake of 1775 that destroyed Lisbon. Its 35 arches crossing the Valley of Alcantara; the highest arches reach 65 meters in height and have a width of 29 meters. The construction length was less than 58 km away. Manuel da Maia was the Portuguese military engineer who designed and built thisspectacular opera, commissioned by King Joao V.
Wait up there that were realized the conditions for obtaining the photographic image as I wished it was a pleasant suffering, unforgettable emotional experience.
When Art, History and Nature meet is the triumph of Beauty and up there you might see!
Heartfelt thanks, Juliet, for your kind words. Best wishes. Stephen

Too generous, Rosary!
To get this photo I expected, up to 65 meters high, that the shadow of the pharaonic Aqueduct of the Acque Libere (1731 - 1748) of Lisbon stretched on the underlying freeway. I waited for several hours to create this spectacular effect but in anticipation I feared to freeze for the strong wind.
An unforgettable emotion!
Happy that you appreciated it.
