Sicuramente guardando queste due foto ci si chiede quanto tempo si è dedicato a loro e quante nottate in bianco, come è normale immaginarsi in questi casi. Ma la fortuna e la fantasia hanno giocato un ruolo importante! Da circa quattro anni L'Assiolo è una presenza costante vicino a casa mia, dopo alcuni anni in cui era scomparso. Tra luglio ed agosto si rimette a cantare, dopo una pausa di più di in mese, e frequenta anche il Pino domestico che ho in giardino. Il canto comincia all'imbrunire e finisce verso le 22,30. Dopo vari tentativi e prove per attirarlo e fotografarlo, nel 2013 ho avuto il primo successo e l'anno scorso ho realizzato queste due foto. In pratica ho posto alcuni rametti (in questo caso di Ciavardello che fruttifica nel mio giardino in questo periodo) o tronchi, per variare l'ambientazione, appena sopra il muretto del terrazzo che dista pochi metri dal Pino. Ho fornito i posatoi costantemente di cavallette, sempre disponibili nel prato di casa. Ma l'attesa non è stata lunga! Scattavo direttamente, senza trappole, quando vedevo stagliarsi sullo sfondo, leggermente illuminato dal chiarore delle luci notturne, la sua sagoma. Ho usato il flash Canon Speedlite 580 EX con la messa a fuoco ausiliaria all'infrarosso che non sbagliava un colpo! Fotografie ottenute in tutta comodità quindi, da una finestra di casa, senza fare nottatacce!!
