con Canon EF 2.0x III, 1/1250 f/8.0, ISO 800, hand held. Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Mentre percorriamo un affluente del Rio Cuiabà alle prime luci dell'alba, scorgiamo in lontananza questo airone plumbeo (Ardea cocoi) alle prese con un difficile pasto da inghiottire. L'airone aveva appena infilzato a morte un pesce gatto (Pterygoplichthys pardalis) di discrete dimensioni e non riusciva a ingoiarlo, ignaro che su una pianta a bordo acqua lo stava osservando una poiana nera maggiore. Quando quast'ultima ruppe gli indugi e sferrò l'attacco con l'intento di rubare la preda, l'airone fece cadere il pesce in acqua e si diede alla fuga. Il tutto si concluse con un nulla di fatto per antrambi i contendenti. Settembre 2014

Grazie mille Duell, mi fa piacere che tu abbia apprezzato anche questa. Il tutto è durato una decina di minuti ma noi siamo arrivati che l'airone aveva già pescato. Alla fine l'attacco della poiana sarebbe stato ancora più strepitoso da catturare, ma ha colto tutti di sorpresa e il tutto si è svolto in pochi secondi e in quel caso io mi sono gustato semplicemente la scena con gli occhi, anche perchè con il 300 moltiplicato ero troppo lungo.

Si purtroppo quando si è concentrati a fotografare non ci si gusta a pieno le meraviglie della natura. Guardare con gli occhi e non attraverso un mirino è tutta un'altra cosa. Però quando si viaggia così, che si hanno pochi giorni a disposizione, si cerca di scattare il più possibile senza farsi scappare nulla. Sorriso
