, 1/1000 f/5.6, ISO 640, hand held.

NO CROP,NO FLASH

Excellent capture Steff in the difficult light. Still showed some nice detail and I like the perspective. How did you get the light on the subject? At only ISO 640 surely there must be some artificial light involved?

Thanks to all !!!
Brian all the photos are nocturnal.so just for focusing an external light is mandatory.
a friend of me kept under the spotlight the nightjar.i left the car in a "stealth" Avoiding way to cross the light.
the bird under the light didnt watch on me and i had the chance to do the photos.i did some shots with the external speedlight but this one is made with the speedlight settings but .... missing the lighting During The speedlight recharging.
this is why you see 640iso. i always use the speedlight with my camera in M ??mode and fixed isos too

Thanks Steff. Nice job in 'stealth' mode : ). One more question, is there a reason why you chosed the 5D MIII over the D4 for this shot?

Brian, the 5dmk3 is a full frame and in low light is better than 1d4 and other cameras with smaller sensor.Furthermore at night the photographer is unable to know long distance shot is 500mm Already a long lens.for my experience in Those conditions is better to use the 500mm on a full frame camera.
thanks again
Stefano

Steff, great close up capture with fine detail. Like the texture, the color tones, the subdued lighting, and the wonderful setting. Well caught. Wally
