Da una finestra dell'appartamento di Madama Felicita, in una giornata nebbiosa, si staglia la sagoma della Mole Antonelliana e in basso si intravede la fontana dei giardini reali detta "di Nereide" che dovrebbe riaprirsi al pubblico nell'anno corrente. La Fontana ai giardini reali deve il suo nome alla ninfa Nereide, attorniata da Tritoni, creature mitologiche con corpo superiore umano e quello inferiore da animale acquatico, la ninfa è colta seduta con il busto in lieve torsione e un braccio volto in alto verso Palazzo Reale. La data di collocazione della Fontana risale al 1758.
