Alberto: Thanks for your comment. I understand wild photography has its unfogertable athmosphere. I travel across the world a lot to know that. On the other hand even animals in ZOO live their lives, they got feelings, moods and so. This my personal project is build on that, and this is also reason why there is no ZOO artifical staff in those project series. Just the animals and their beauty. I have no available advances against the normal visitors so I have to deal with all pros and contras of artifical surroundings, sharp lights and not using flash at all. I still believe ZOOs are not circus-like places anymore, and Prague is one of the best in the world. They are playing enormous role in education and support wild places across the globe. The animals in ZOO has different life story than those in wild, but still have stories. In some cases they are more lucky than those thousands killed for uncontrolled hunting, non sense killing and natural environment destroying. Once there will not be armed guards of the apes in the wild, there will be almost no reason to keep them in captivity. |

The photo is beautiful, by the fact that the Gorilla denounces the inhumanity of man. Denounces our excess and the inability to deserve this planet. Complaint, that we are the bestie.wow!

Quoto in all respects Alberto. I personally like the photo to the composition and post-production applied, but frankly, the conditions of the shot make me cringe and take away all the magic image. E 'stronger than me if I think that those poor animals, especially when taken from their natural habitat, they seem a bit' like prisoners in jails (although in this case they have no fault to be locked up there!), Eager to roam for large spaces without fences or iron bars. For those who were born there instead the question is different. Sure they have a comfort and can live in a way that does not exist in nature, but their instinct tells him that this is not their habitat, perhaps it is also why I often suffer from other diseases that do not contract in nature (because of little movement and the absence of a vita spending in the herd or in the community depending on the species). Sure you may have also right in saying that often the place of ZOO were discovered by researchers and so on, but for me, their presence is only justified by the fact that in some of them are contained specimens of endangered species d 'extinction that need special attention and reached their tipping points. Otherwise, for me it's just junk (excuse the term, of course, turned to the places and not the photo) commercial. Then the fact that this photo was taken probably in the best conditions and with a 100 mm FF speaks volumes about the value of a similar document when compared to other images (I remember in particular your leopard in Thailand, which was a must ) taken in the wild. For example, this spring I plan to go stalking nell'Appenninor in search of the wolf instead go see in wildlife. Obviously I probably will take days, if not months, to see it, but according to you, by nature photographer who you are, or at least what I think you are, what is best? A single photo, maybe not technically perfect wolf loose in its habitat? Or a photo technically perfect but taken from 2 meters to almost domesticated wolves and separated by a fence? Then because of the training I snap photos pigeons in front of my house to keep me fit;-). |

My goodness, this picture lacks only the word .... is evocative, emotional, reflexive, captivating. |

I understand the disappointment of some users, for shots taken captive, but if you look at the galleries of Petr, you'll see the beautiful pictures and all realized in nature, strictly "wild". Honestly, I would not say this is a shot ,,, bad indeed! This series, I think it's more a personal quest author ,,, in my opinion, should be seen as an experiment in reportage and denunciation on the detention of animals in captivity (or, at least, so I understood I;-)). A greeting! |
