In Val di Landro a pochi chilometri da Dobbiaco (BZ) il Cimitero di Guerra di Monte Piana raccoglie le spoglie di 1259 caduti appartenenti alle varie nazioni che componevano l'Impero Austro-Ungarico caduti nel corso dei combattimenti della prima Guerra Mondiale. Il Cimitero è posizionato della strada statale che congiunge le località di Misurina e Dobbiaco a pochi chilometri da quest'ultima. Qui si rilegge la storia del secolo scorso con le due terribili guerre e con la follia antisemita, ma anche la successiva unificazione di molte delle nazioni allora in conflitto in una comune casa europea.
