but what are the 10 poses as then the comet moves?

From the ignorant would like to know too.

Ottima tacnica. Dark frame?

Elio Magnabosco- equatorial mount that uses?
Belissimo shooting, has its elegance and charm close to the Pleiades. Excellent tacnica. Dark frame?

Elio.

Thanks to all but take me off guard, I did not expect that my photos become even photos Editor's Pick, thanks Juzaforum!

And to think that to make this photo I only did a hit and run a few kilometers from home.

That Sunday evening I had family commitments binding "dinner of excellent cut", but alas the weather as usual stingy skies provided nice just that night so even the comet became mandatory.
To answer those who have asked me information about exposure times, I chose to do 180s in 1600 because with previous tests on Lovejoy, I noticed that even if I increased the integration time to 300s the gain was not so obvious, and having decided for more forces to stop only thirty minutes with un'integration of 180s, the Canon I saved a file number higher then the ability to integrate and then with the sum of the file to more effectively counter the grain, even if it is still very evident.

The photos were taken with the instruments mounted on a frame-type equatorial Gemini G53F "poses unguided", I decided in advance to do 30 minutes total because I noticed that the comet was moving very slowly,
this movement with a target of only 180mm of focal became almost imperceptible.
For post-production I made a simple sum over the stars and then the software astronomical year did the rest.

Emiliano also heaven celebrated your birthday with a performance that is not repeated very often.

Helium.

Spettacolo!!!
Complimenti. Guido

Entertainment !!! Nice work in PP, but that is, in addition to Lovejoy, I really like the Pleiades in this context.
Congratulations. Guido

That evening I photographed the comet from the plain I also though. I still ten shots from 10 seconds to assemble facts without tracker and after seeing this I think cestinerò them without regret: - |

SorrisoSorrisoSorrisoSorriso

Photo beautiful for framing and depth; congratulations
But I do not understand how in 30 minutes will not be moved the comet.
I tried to January 10, poses for 2 min canvas 200 f / 4 and I can move if the fixed stars. To get the comet stops I crawl the stars. However my result is poor, I could not highlight the tail that is really weak and thin.

Grazie a tutti.

Thank you all.
Robywan64, using an equatorial mount that compensates for the apparent movement of the heavens, the motion of the comet to these different focal lengths is not very obvious.

In my humble point of view, the excellent result of this is due to several factors.
First the sky, perfect in this case and quite dark
Perfect tracking, the many pinpoint stars are there to confirm the goodness of the equipment used
Post production very very "wise" not seen strange things, like halos, vignetting and banding, the slight residual noise is almost pleasant.
Then, finally, as in all things, to be at the right time in the right place. This is also part of the plan for the exits time:-)
