In questo periodo dell'anno, sulle prealpi biellesi, i margari incendiano i pascoli montani per prepararli alla nuova primavera. A volte, complice il clima secco e il forte vento, come domenica scorsa, succede che questi fuochi si estendano agli arbusti e poi ai boschi. Pronto l'intervento dei vigili del fuoco, che hanno presto domato l'incendio, salvando anche l'albero che si vede in basso nell'immagine :-) (ripresa da 1km circa di distanza con Zeiss Jena 300mm f4 + crop)

Ciao Claudio, sì hai ragione, in questi casi la consapevolezza e la sicurezza non sono le premesse dell'operato. L'erba di montagna quando è secca è estremamente infiammabile, per cui brucia senza incendiare le zone boschive limitrofe. Il problema è che nelle giornate di forte vento il fuoco è sovralimentato e raggiunge prima gli arbusti e poi gli alberi. In questo caso l'intervento dei vigili del fuoco è stato indispensabile, anche perché a poche centinaia di metri da lì sorge l'importante Santuario di Oropa, che sarebbe stato minacciato dalle fiamme.
