Sono stato accompagnato da un amico fotografo che sapeva dove trovare questo gallo pazzerello. Dopo 2 ore di cammino nel bosco in montagna, con poca neve ma con il terreno ben ghiacciato (era gennaio), arrivati nella zona che solitamente questo gallo frequenta... :nulla!
Anche con il richiamo che il mio amico/maestro è in grado di riprodurre, niente da fare. Girando un po' però, abbiamo trovato le impronte sulla neve e alcune fatte e quindi non ci siamo persi d'animo, abbiamo perlustrato la zona e, una volta alzatici leggermente di quota, eccolo arrivare staccandosi in volo dal ramo di un larice, per raggiungerci a terra con una certa aggressività tipica di alcuni galli cedroni definiti "pazzi" che non hanno nessuna paura dell'uomo probabilmente a causa di una carica ormonale superiore alla norma. Il suo comportamento era quello tipico di un gallo in amore con tutte le fasi del canto che lo caratterizzano (anche se la galline non erano presenti) e che probabilmente ci considerava dei rivali.
Non è semplice fotografare questo tipo di galli perché, anche se non scappano e ti arrivano vicino, avendo una certa aggressività li devi tenere a distanza perché tentano di volarti in testa...
Abbiamo dovuto quindi fare degli scatti indietreggiando per tenerlo ad una certa distanza...
Altri galli sono viceversa molto sospettosi e fuggono se disturbati, quindi la tecnica per fotografarli è completamente diversa.
E' stata una grande emozione per me poter fotografare questo magnifico esemplare di Gallo Cedrone, spero che un giorno si possa ripetere...
