#Riflessi I pionieri della bonifica La metà del XIX secolo costituisce un importante spartiacque per il territorio polesano: dopo alcuni lustri di costosi tentativi andati falliti, le moderne tecniche permisero di applicare efficacemente il vapore alla bonifica, dando così inizio all'era della costruzione delle grandi macchine idrovore. Ciò portò in Polesine ingegneri meccanici di varie provenienze e nazionalità che svolgevano sopralluoghi e rilievi per conto delle diverse ditte fornitrici, come lo svizzero Frej della Escher Wejss di Zurigo, Stefano Benech e Augusto Tarifat della Benech di Torino, Giorgio e Guglielmo Strudthoff della omonima ditta triestina. Proprio con Giorgio Strudthoff, il 10 luglio 1851, Pietro Salvagnini stipulò il contratto per l'installazione in località Belvedere di Rettinella1, nei pressi di Loreo, di una imponente macchina idrovora per il Consorzio Dossi Vallieri Tutte le foto contenute in queste gallerie sono copyright Mario Griso e non possono essere utilizzate in alcuna forma senza il consenso dell'autore.
