Thank you all for the great comments and the information on this species. The National Geographic for birds of North America describe it as Male House Finch. Because I live in the USA. that's what we call it. Perhaps in Italy you have a different name for the same species of bird? Does anybody know? Always appreciate hearing from you. Wally
