Qualcuno ha affermato che i giovani se ne vanno per il mondo, e quando un giorno gli anziani saranno morti, anche la loro fede svanirà con essi, perché il mondo cambia e deve cambiare. Può darsi che la riflessione sia la greve legge, mai scritta, dell'evoluzione umana. Come può darsi che siano il divenire o la sorte stessa a modificare la nostra esistenza a loro piacimento. Tuttavia, voglio ancora credere che i figli del domani, che i discendenti di un futuro incerto, sappiano raccogliere con dignità quelle poche beole rimaste intere, e che le sappiano sistemare sopra un tetto che non esiste più, affinché si riapra una nuova porta. Semmai guarderanno attentamente nell'ombra evanescente di quella soglia, troveranno ad attenderli i vecchi di una volta, i quali, con lo sguardo dignitoso di questi paesi dimenticati, sapranno ringraziarli per averli ricordati così, come loro veramente erano, tanto tempo fa. L'anziana signora, qui raffigurata in un nostalgico bianco e nero, si chiama Alda. È nata e vive nella sua casa di Orlonghetto da ben novantacinque anni. È la persona più anziana del paese, anzi, di quello che rimane del mio universo di fanciullo. Nei suoi occhi risiede un tempo a noi mai ravvisato, perché il suo sguardo ha raccolto tutto ciò che è stato il mondo del ventesimo secolo, in ogni sua miserevole piega. Ogni volta che vado a trovarla mi proferisce puntualmente che la solitudine e la vecchiaia sono il male peggiore della vita e che sarebbe ora di farla finita, una volta per tutte, perché la vita stessa è una fregatura. Dedico questa mia immagine, rinvigorita dai Vostri bei commenti, alla solitudine del mondo umano, auspicando sempre che un giorno la miseria, la dimenticanza e la nostra naturale fragilità possano, in qualche modo miracoloso, guarire. #BiancoeNero
