La Specola di Padova è stata sede del vecchio osservatorio astronomico dell'Università patavina, è posta sulla Torlonga, la maggiore delle due torri difensive dell'antico Castello di Padova, edificata nel IX secolo, è alta 49,59 m. Verso la fine del Settecento iniziò l'attività di osservatorio astronomico fino al 1942 quando venne costruito l'osservatorio di Asiago che fa capo sempre all'Università di Padova. Dal 1994 la Specola è sede del Museo Astronomico.
