Nel paese di Reine, la notte ad agosto non si fa mai vedere del tutto. Il sole, appena sotto il crepuscolo sfiora le nuvole colorandole di un lieve viola, che si confonde con l'azzurro cielo, la luna, fa capolino dalla nebbia. Il mare, essendo all'interno di un fiordo, molto difficilmente innalza possenti onde rimanendo costantemente calmo, la fascia centrale delle tipiche case rosse divide il mare dal cielo che hanno la stessa tonalità di azzurro, confondendo quasi l'uno con l'altro. Reine costituisce uno dei tipici paesi Norvegesi, le case completamente fatte in legno, sono al 90% rosse, creando quel forte contrasto con il mare e il cielo. Reine è uno dei pochi paesi più a ovest delle Lofoten, e come in tutto l'arcipelago, è caratterizzata da ponti, casette rosse, gallerie, fiordi e monti.... uno spettacolo per gli occhi.
