Questa è stata la foto più difficile in assoluto che abbia mai fatto fino ad adesso, partiamo da Ravenna per le Tre cime di Lavaredo, per la strada in macchina cerchiamo un posto dove passare la notte, senza alcuna fortuna, eravamo al punto di andare a Camogli, ma avendo visto la via lattea in foto eravamo troppo vogliosi di fotografarla, quindi un "posto si troverà" dico, nella titubanza del mio compagno di avventure andiamo verso Venezia per dirigerci poi al rifugio Auronzo. Appena arrivati nevischio, mossi dal fatto che dal Rifugio Auronzo al Locatelli "si fa in un ora" ci incamminiamo. Con noi oltre all'attrezzatura fotografica abbiamo mezza bottiglia di acqua, dei creckers e un sacchetto di gocciole... Arriviamo alla cresta abbastanza tranquillamente, lo spettacolo delle tre cime maestose ci da la forza per arrivare al rifugio.. qui sorgono le prime difficoltà. Il passo è in realtà una serie di impronte sulla neve, a fatica e con molte perplessità giungiamo al rifugio Locatelli a pelo per il tramonto, prima sessione di scatti. Una volta che il sole è giù dalle montagne, circa le 21 e 10 scopriamo che il rifugio è chiuso. Il bivio: torniamo indietro col buio in quel passo stanchi morti o restiamo qui senza sacco a pelo, ne coperte, ne acqua ne cibo?" ci dice (fortunatamente) un ragazzo che c'è possibilità di dormire in una casina con dei posti letto. Ancora incerti sul da farsi e non pienamente convinti decidiamo di restare! La notte la passo al freddo su una sedia dentro la casetta, verso l'una di notte esco e il cielo è MAGNIFICO, limpido, le stelle si vedono più luminose che mai, un accenno di via lattea, decido di entrare ed aspettare che salti fuori meglio, si fanno le 2 e 30, credo, e suona la sveglia dei due fotografi che dormivano li, così usciamo anche noi, purtroppo si è coperto parecchio il cielo, ma uno scorcio di via lattea sono comunque riuscito a fotografarlo. Passata mezz'ora e la piccola bufera di neve, stremati da freddo e dalle poche ore di sonno, assetati e con lo stomaco che brontola torniamo nel dormitorio. Si fa l'alba, usciamo di nuovo e qui lo spettacolo è grandioso, nuvole in cielo, luce calda, atmosfera unica. Torno su dalla chiesetta e faccio qualche scatto. E' ora di tornare, la neve è diventata molto dura, il freddo si alterna al calore dei raggi solari che diventano sempre più percettibili, partiamo. Arriviamo stremati, barcollando alla macchina lasciata al rifugio Auronzo, colazione a Misurina e ci mettiamo in macchina per essere a Ravenna nel pomeriggio.
