Io sono andato a metà febbraio, con l'intenzione proprio di visitare le grotte di ghiaccio del Vatnajökull! La delusione è stata grande quando il tuor operator mi ha informato che a causa di un inverno molto mite (per gli standard islandesi) le grotte di ghiaccio più vicine non erano visitabili perchè non sicure. Per fortuna ho trovato un altro tour operator (Melrakki Adventures) che organizzava un tour più lungo (7 ore complessive) per addentrarsi di più sul ghiacciaio e raggiungere grotte ancora visitabili. E' stato bellissimo. Ti consiglio quindi i tour lunghi perchè non sono così impegnativi come li classificano ma rendono l'esperienza più bella e con meno persone.
