Una passeggiata nelle campagne di Arzachena, rinomato centro turistico della Gallura, ti permetterà di scoprire un paesaggio fatto di vigneti e campi destinati al pascolo, un territorio abitato da sempre, che custodisce un ricco patrimonio archeologico ereditato dalle civiltà che popolarono l’area nella preistoria. Ad appena due chilometri e mezzo di distanza dall’abitato arzachenese il nuraghe Albucciu, uno dei più caratteristici e rilevanti esempi di edificio ‘a corridoio’ (o protonuraghe), ossia gli antenati dei nuraghi, anche se le coperture tronco-ogivali risentono della successiva tecnica di edificazione a tholos. Risalente all’età del Bronzo Medio (XV secolo a.C.), i secoli, anzi i millenni, hanno fatto sì che il nuraghe sia del tutto nascosto in un frastagliato boschetto di olivastri e di macchia mediterranea. La peculiarità, che lo differenzia da vari nuraghi della zona, è la tecnica costruttiva. Gli imponenti blocchi di granito furono addossati con cura a un’imponente roccia granitica chiara che costituisce parte della muratura dell’edificio principale, nonché parte preponderante di tutto il nuraghe.
