60 immagini da 1.3" mediate con Siril. 135mm e treppiede. Lieve ritaglio e un po' di post produzione con rawtherapee. Il risultato mi sembra decisamente migliore rispetto al primo tentativo. Autunno 2024, monti del cicolano, valle del salto.

Well, remarkable to say the least. Not taking this type of photo, I am still fascinated by it.

Claudio I made a second attempt increasing the number of shots to be averaged and the result begins to be discreet

Fascinated by your result, I read for a good half hour to get an idea of the complexity of handling techniques and sw of this type.
Applause!

@Kenzo.
It's not as complicated as it seems, you need to make 4 series of shots to be processed by Siril. Siril also works with scripts that make everything automatic. As with all free software, there are many tutorials that help you understand.
The tricky thing is that here we are trying to extract information with short shutter speeds so as not to use an astrotracker.
Roughly speaking, we can say that in this shot I reached 1min. and 18sec. of exposure. Enough to start highlighting structures in the galaxy (M32 can also be seen). But still not much to obtain an image as effective as those of the very good astroimagers that adopt tracking.

Congratulations, very nice.
Sooner or later I will have to try my hand at this branch of photography totally unknown to me.

It seems to me an excellent result: I mentally compare this image of yours with the Andromeda that I can see with eight-magnification binoculars and with the one I see using my telescope that reaches twenty-four magnifications: this is certainly much better: it is true that I look from the Po Valley and not from the top of a mountain, but I think the big difference was made by your sixty shots then processed with Siril: yours is a professional job with all the trimmings.

Thank you for the nice comment. I didn't exaggerate with the elaboration because I'm an amateur astronomer with many years of Dobsonian and I don't like hubble-style elaborations which, although impressive, are not representative of what the eye perceives at the eyepiece of an instrument.
In the future, if I can lengthen the time of the single shot, I will try to bring out the color with more conviction
greetings
