Costa Rica. Questo colibrì è talmente minuscolo che viene chiamato "Scintilla di Vulcano". Ma pur essendo lungo appena 6/7 centimetri e pesando 2 grammi, non rinuncia a volare sui fiori alla ricerca del nettare sotto una insistente pioggia (la foto non rende l'intensità), mentre altri, più' grandi, attendono al riparo che il tempo migliori.
