Religious settlement documented from 1259. Refounded by Franciscan friars in about 1450. Enlarged around 1650. The Napoleonic suppression, in 1810, meant that the large convent complex went into progressive decay, with the gradual ruin of the entire church. Today the convent is reduced to four private homes.
