Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio - Luglio 2022 - Da tempo volevo riprendere questo magnifico soggetto in volo, in particolare durante la frenata aerea mentre lancia il suo richiamo appena prima dell'atterraggio. Particolare è anche l'alone di polvere tutto intorno al soggetto, dovuto all'assenza totale di precipitazioni in questo anno siccitoso. La Pernice Bianca, è la regina delle alte quote e delle pietraie, la sua particolarità è nella capacità di “cambiarsi d'abito” a seconda delle stagioni per mimetizzarsi con l'ambiente circostante per sfuggire alle attenzioni dei suoi predatori naturali. Bianca candida d'inverno con un mimetismo perfetto sul manto nevoso, in estate invece si veste nella parte superiore con colori marroni, grigi e rossi in perfetta sintonia con l'ambiente.
