Quando poi sussiste un evidente bisogno di una riduzione di animali proliferi, allora tale mattanza dovrebbe aspettare a chi di dovere, e non sicuramente a cacciatori sprovveduti che sparano a chiunque capiti a tiro. Se il cacciatore moderno vuole divertirsi con costosi schioppi o balestre professionali, che non hanno assolutamente più alcuno scopo, vada a sparare in poligoni attrezzati, sfogando la sua rabbia ancestrale contro sagome di cartone inermi, non in mezzo a boschi o paesi, dove c'è solo bisogno di un reciproco ed indispensabile rispetto sia verso la natura che nei confronti del prossimo. Lascino a Diana cacciatrice le gesta mitologiche, comportamenti che non hanno più alcun senso in questa epoca attuale, anche se la riteniamo parecchio discutibile. Diventa veramente difficoltoso perdonare un cacciatore del ventunesimo secolo quando afferma con assoluta schiettezza che spara solo per procurarsi del cibo in maniera divertente, come facevano invece per vera necessità i nostri nonni, vissuti alcuni millenni fa.
