Sulla battigia di S. Vito Polignano, al cospetto delle onde che si infrangevano con forza due anime devote trovarono un attimo di tregua. Ero lì a scrutare il mare e ad un tratto le vidi che passeggiavano il mio obiettivo catturò le loro spalle, un sipario nero e bianco che si apriva sul vasto palcoscenico del mare. A piedi nudi, come se volessero cancellare ogni confine tra la loro vocazione e la cruda, salata realtà del mondo, stavano lì a contemplare l'orizzonte. In un bianco e nero senza tempo, la spiaggia si fece teatro di un dialogo silenzioso tra il sacro e l'infinito. Due figure, due vite dedicate, si stagliavano contro l'orizzonte mosso del mare. A piedi nudi sulla sabbia umida, la suora in abito chiaro compì un gesto che ruppe ogni schema: un palmo proteso verso il vasto orizzonte, un'offerta di speranza, un'invocazione di lode alla vastità che le si apriva davanti.
