Sono le ultime centinaia di metri da percorrere e sono dedicate alle chiome del Bosco delle Fate, dopo essere stati incantati da rocce, anfratti, alberi maestosi tutto qui è avvolto da racconti, storie e leggende tramandate quasi da un millennio, così mi accingo ad arrivare al primo punto di trasferimento, per giungere poi alla seconda parte della camminata denominata "anello basso de La Verna" percorso che va ad avvolgere la montagna rocciosa del Sacro Monte de la Verna.

In meno di mezz'ora (partenza nella cartina dal n°1) a velocità di bambino il sentiero risale fino al parcheggio (n° 10) qui nell'inverno del 2015 un vento particolare, precipitato dal crinale appenninico lungo i versanti occidentali, ha devastato intere foreste delle zone montane e pedemontane di un'area immensa, dalle pinete della Versilia ai boschi della Montagna Pistoiese, dai versanti del Pratomagno alle antiche foreste della Verna. Nei canaloni, dove il vento prendeva velocità, l'effetto è stato quello di una gigantesca invisibile valanga che ha spezzato alberi centenari come ramoscelli secchi.
Solo grazie a un eccezionale lavoro di operai e forestali il sentiero era già pulito e ben percorribile dopo pochi mesi.

Ancora si possono notare le radici di maestosi faggi

Qui c'è la maestosità delle piante che si stagliano in altezza per cercare la luce ed accarezzare il cielo con le loro chiome.

Arrivati sotto la strada che ci porterà verso il parcheggio per noi, ed al Santuario per chi vorrà prima visitarlo, troveremo alla fine del sentiero due panche in legno (nella cartina siamo al punto n°10) Possiamo approfittarne per un piccolo riposino o anche per un momento di riflessione prima di lasciare il luogo che non può lasciare indifferenti sotto innumerevoli aspetti.
