Il lupo del Serengeti , nome scientifico Canis l. bea ( sottospecie del Canis Lupaster ) è un caso molto interessante....... Piuttosto raro, non si vede molto frequentemente e, ad un occhio inesperto, non è facilissimo da distinguere da uno sciacallo dorato anche se le guide locali lo chiamano silver Jackal. Fino al 2015 era ritenuto una variante dello sciacallo dorato ma, da uno studio sul genoma compiuto nel 2015 è emerso che è affine al lupo grigio ed è stato classificato come specie a parte ! Serenegeti National Park - Tanzania
