La Fiat 600 Multipla venne in parte derivata dalla Fiat 600 e fu prodotta dal 1956 al 1967 nelle versioni a 4 ed a 6 posti. Aveva il motore... dotato di 4 cilindri in linea e posizionato posteriormente... che inizialmente era di 633 cm3 per poi essere maggiorato a 767 cm3... nel 1960... che così poteva erogare 29 cavalli e far raggiungere alla vettura i 95 chilometri orari di velocità massima. Tale 2° versione venne denominata 600 D Multipla. Questa vettura si può considerare l'antesignana delle moderne monovolume e per questo motivo molti esemplari vennero allestiti anche in versione taxi dove il portabagagli veniva ricavato nel posto dove sarebbe stato seduto il passeggero che affiancava il conducente. Da queste mie parti... e forse anche altrove... a volte si vedeva transitare una 600 Multipla con a bordo delle monache e dei bimbetti e per questo motivo la vettura si prese spesso il simpatico appellativo di... "la macchina delle suore".
