Il black wildebeest, come lo chiamano in Sudafrica, era un tempo molto diffuso ma a fine '800 era stato quasi sterminato per la sua carne e soprattutto per la sua pelle. Lo si trova oggi in alcune zone protette come il Mountain Zebra National Park, dove ho scattato questa foto, e il piccolo Camdeboo NP, entrambi nella provincia orientale del Sudafrica.
