Parnassius mnemosyne, (Linné, 1758) - Famiglia Papilionidae Sottofamiglia Parnassiinae - Apertura alare Da 5 a 6 cm.: Distribuzione in Italia: Nelle Alpi e sugli Appennini compresa la Sicilia. - Habitat: Praterie umide e pascoli tra i 700 e i 1800 m. - Periodo di volo: Univoltina in giugno e luglio. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Tutte le specie del genere Corydalis. - Dimorfismo sessuale: Femmina con aspetto simile al maschio, ma con maggiore estensione dei disegni neri e delle zone traslucide. Spesso di dimensioni maggiori. Le femmine fecondate presentano sotto l'addome la caratteristica formazione cornea tipica del genere, che raggiunge in questa specie notevoli dimensioni.
