Falesie a strapiombo battute dal vento e dal mare e un faro imponente che veglia sulle rovine di un'antica abbazia, la Pointe Saint-Mathieu sembra un concentrato di Bretagna. La leggenda narra che, mentre riportavano il corpo di San Matteo apostolo, alcuni mercanti della regione del Léon furono miracolosamente salvati da un naufragio al largo di questa punta. Nel VI secolo, per ospitare le reliquie del santo, Tanguy costruì qui il primo monastero. Dell'abbazia, dedicata a St. Mathieu, rimangono oggi la facciata romanica, le volte di pietra del coro e le arcate della navata. Alle spalle di questa costruzione, la cappella di Notre-Dame-de-Grâce ospita un piccolo museo che custodisce alcuni resti dell'antica abbazia. Scatto effettuato nel mese di settembre 2018.
