l'imponente fronte del ghiacciaio , alto circa 70 metri riceve una spinta incalcolabile dalla massa dai fronti delle montagne circostanti. Con rumori paragonati quasi ad uno scoppio di tanto in tanto dei seracchi si spaccano e cadono in acqua. E' un ciclo che si ripete da sempre. Questo ghiacciaio, terzo al mondo , dopo l'Antartide e la Groenlandia è uno dei pochi non in regressione.
