E' il Natale Copto Etiope, luogo migliore per fotografare festa è a Lalibela. Mi c sono avvicinato lentamente a Lalibela attraversando l'altopiano etiope dove più vive sono le tradizioni e la vita è ancorata ad antiche usanze. Uscendo dagli itinerari standard del turismo nel nord del paese per seguire le piste sterrate che portano nei villaggi persi tra le montagne dell'acrocoro etiope. Questo mi ha dato la possibilità di fotografare il quotidiano di questo popolo per creare un racconto “completo”, una storia che culmini con le celebrazioni di Genna. A Lalibela, qui ogni anno giungono dopo un pellegrinaggio di centinaia di chilometri, settimane di cammino, superando valli e montagne, migliaia di credenti. Un vero e proprio esodo bibblico che ho fotografato: l'arrivo dei pellegrini, il loro campo la loro fede Lo sfondo naturale di questo evento è Lalibela con le sue 11 chiese scolpite nel tufo rosa della montagna, luogo davvero magico e perfetta location fotografica. La vigilia in notturna con i fedeli in sciamma bianca alla luce di mille candele, poi i riti del mattino con i Diaconi e Sacerdoti al suono di cembali e tamburi.
