#Verde #Wild Pelophylax esculentus: La rana ibrida dei fossi, conosciuta anche come rana comune o rana verde (Pelophylax esculentus (Linnaeus, 1758)) è un anfibio della famiglia Ranidae. È una rana acquatica di 12 cm di lunghezza, dal muso appuntito e dalle dita ampiamente palmate. Il dorso, è di colore verde smagliante o bruno oliva, talvolta cosparso di macchie nere, è ornato, ad ogni lato. L'ibernazione ha luogo nella melma dello stagno in cui vive. La specie è comune in gran parte dell'Europa occidentale, centrale e orientale. In Italia è presente con certezza solo nella pianura Padana.[1] È una specie che è praticamente scomparsa da molti stagni e specchi d'acqua, a causa dell'inquinamento ambientale e delle acque da parte di anticrittogamici rameici e di altre sostanze tossiche. Anche l'impoverimento delle erbe di superficie degli stagni, dovuto a cause simili, e alla scomparsa delle ninfee ha prodotto un notevole ridimensionamento di questa specie. Quello che scrivi è verissimo ma desidero aggiungere qualcosa...
Abito proprio nel mezzo di 3 province: Ferrara, Bologna e Modena... e qui fino a pochi anni fa di rane ve ne erano tantissime data la grande abbondanza di specchi e corsi d'acqua poi... qualche "furbo"... ha introdotto sia quei gamberi rossi americani definiti "killer" che le tartarughe palustri americane che in pochi anni hanno sterminato le uova ed i girini di questi nostrani anfibi.
Infine... risalendo i fiumi... sono arrivati i gabbiani, gli aironi e i loro simili a fare il resto ed ora se vogliamo vedere delle rane... e non solo... dobbiamo venire qui sul web a cercare fotografie come queste Tue... molto belle...
Differentemente da quello riportato da Wikipedia questo tipo di rana non era comune solo nella Pianura Padana ma in tutta la parte pianeggiante dell'Italia Settentrionale, Centrale e oltre... con buona prevalenza delle zone che erano... o continuano ad essere... coltivate a riso e similari.
L'inquinamento e gli anticrittogamici non sono sempre gli unici a sterminare intere specie di animali ma... sempre più spesso... lo è l'introduzione sconsiderata "da parte di furbi e sapienti dell'ultima ora" di predatori importati che qui non hanno nemici e loro predatori naturali così la catena alimentare va a propendere solo in un senso e a discapito di altre.
