Il suo particolare nome lo deve all'ampio foro/galleria, presente al suo interno, che la trapassa da parte a parte, creando un fantastico spettacolo di luci e ombre. Sempre esposta a maestrale e all'impetuoso mare, osserva la fiera il trascorrere dei secoli e degli uomini che la rimirano, instancabilmente.
