Anatra vaporiera volatrice; Tachyeres patachonicus; Brassemer de Patagonie; Flying Steamerduck - Ushuaia - Il genere Tachyeres comprende 4 specie tutte residenti in Patagonia. Questa è l'unica in grado di volare, le altre 3 specie hanno ali piccole ehanoo perso l'abilità al volo. Il nome comune fa riferimento all'abitudine di utilizzare le piccole ali come "remi" ricordando le pale dei vecchi battelli a vapore
