In cima alla salita della Motta ("collina", in lombardo), si erge la chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, edificata nel 1485 e ricostruita nella seconda metà del XVIII secolo. L'originario impianto tardoromanico fu arricchito con dipinti del XVII e XVIII secolo, ad opera del Rossetti, del Cantalupi e dell'Orgiazzi, Nella cappella Gemelli si può ammirare una tela del Procaccini, raffigurante San Carlo alla processione della peste di Milano; si tratta di uno degli esempi più significativi del primo Seicento lombardo. La facciata è di Carlo Nigra ed è preceduta da un protiro su colonnine binate del XVII secolo.
