I couldn't afford to get over to the Isle of Wight for the annual Regatta at Cowes Week, SO, yesterday, I got busses and then walked, to the nearest point on the UK mainland to the Isle of Wight and ZOOMED right in.
Uncropped, 500mm, on DX, plus the D7100's in built 1.3x crop = equivalent focal length = 1000mm.
Lots of added contrast and sharpness, to counteract severe heat and distance haze - these boats are up to 15 km away! It was a glorious sight seeing these often colourful sails flit like butterflies on the shimmering, dancing water.
