Le mura di Glorenza sono state costruite su sollecitazione di Ferdinando I d'Asburgo e completate nel 1580. La cittadina era stata distrutta da un'invasione delle truppe elvetiche e con quest'opera, che prevede un cammino di ronda con 350 feritoie, sette torri con le cuspidi e tre porte, si intendeva difenderla da futuri assalti. Glorenza è attraversata dal fiume Adige, che costeggia la cinta muraria.
