Il lago di Varese e l'isolino Virginia ripresi da un belvedere nel parco Morselli a Gavirate. Il parco é intitolato a Guido Morselli scrittore e filosofo, nato nel 1912 a Bologna, ma presto trasferitosi con la famiglia a Milano. Il padre acquistò una villa a Varese ove Guido trascorse le estati giovanili consolidando il suo amore per Varese. Nel 1952 costruisce a Gavirate in località Poggio di Santa Trinita al cospetto di una natura spettacolare, una casetta ove si ritira in totale solitudine e dove scriverà i suioi libri. Muore suicida nel 1973 a Varese.
