The beautiful engineering of the huge bright and airy Paddington Station, west London. Image edited to show detail throughout as clearly as possible, assisted by the dull skies above not creating harsh shadows. #BlackAndWhite

A great ceiling and I love the way you have photographed it (although I may have been tempted to crop a sliver off the bottom to remove the dark area under the semi-circle :)) Lovely just as it is, though!
You've not posted anything on the other site recently.....perhaps you are too busy editing your London images.....

Thank you Ann - I did think of that but that would make it too clinically neat, like (for example) a roofrack that has no indication that it's attached to a car. I also think some photos need a base. I didn't actually try a cropped version, so it may have worked but I like to show things in context sometimes, even if it's just a sliver.

Yes, I think maybe it would have turned it rather more towards being an abstract image - it's good to give context, if that's not the kind of image you are after.

Hi Paul :-)

Yes, Ann, I did describe it as and intended it to be a study of the station, not as an abstract. You could scroll down, mask it and get that effect if you wished. Both would have worked but this what you've got! The very bottom are the actual modern train carriages in use, so that shows continuity and usage.
