Callophrys rubi è l'unico Ropalocero di color verde della Fauna italiana : specie tra le più precoci, compare già alla fine di Marzo in molte località meridionali. Specie molto territoriale, non apre mai le ali , quando è posata, e depone le sue uova su una gran varietà di piante, fra le quali la Ginestra e il rovo. La foto è stata scattata alle 14.00 del 12 Aprile 2012 in un uliveto, del comune di Corciano
