assieme al gruccione fronte bianca appena pubblicato questo è l'unico gruccione dell'africa australe che non migra nella stagione secca.little bee eater(merops pusillus),anche questo ripreso con luce molto scarsa usando il flash.si tratta di un piccolo gruccione(16cm contro i 23cm del vicino ed i 27/28cm del nostro) che a differenza dell'altro caccia solo in volo.scatto a mano libera da imbarcazione

Marco,in effetti ad aprile eri in wet season con tanti insetti mentre adesso in sudafrica dovrebbe essere iniziata la wet season ma purtroppo....sai che quest'anno c'è la siccità peggiore da 50 anni a questa parte.si è quasi seccato anche l'isimangaliso nel natal...normalmente a fine ottobre iniziano le piogge in sudafrica e caldo+umidità fanno esplodere la popolazione di insetti seguita a novembre dagli uccelli svernanti.quest'anno sono in ritardo,a metà dicembre ancora pochissima acqua,quasi niente Triste
