The shot is nice, I like the composition as well as the focus, but there is something not convince me.
Maybe it's the light, I do not like how it affects the skin, highlighting all defects.
The detail on the eyes does not convince me and does not make them so players as you would like them to be (reading the caption I interpreted this intention).
Personally I would find a different location where the photo shoot to find a light that illuminate scouted more face or I tried to overexpose the subject.
