, 1/125 f/9.0, ISO 640, tripod. Specie: Melitaea didyma

Melitaea didyma (Esper, 1778) - Famiglia Nymphalidae - Sottofamiglia Nymphalinae - Apertura alare: Da 3,4 a 4,5 cm.

Thanks Louis, fortunately this time I carried the tripod, now the sun had set and freehand I would not have succeeded. Thanks for the compliment, hello Fabrizio

Ciao Fabrizio

Hello Locarso before photographing with the 50D that I think still a great car, than this the 7D Mark II surpasses it for many things. It has more detail by the 5 mp plus, has continuous shooting of 4 frames per second in silent mode, and it truly is, that does not scare the insects, has 65 points of focus easier to move from individuals or groups to better to compose the picture, the only handicap is that noise at high ISO that all APSC but then with the FF with the 150 macro're too close to the subject and you lose a lot of photos as long as you do not do like most photographing only in the morning when the butterflies are absolutely still, in this case better definitely a FF. My friend who does and birds that had the 7D first series said it is incredible when snaps the subject, not the spring pi ù even if it passes behind something and was amazed by the speed of focus. Buona luce, ciao Fabrizio

Thanks Pigi, coming from you is always a nice compliment. Luck then is always to find esemplarari born just so they do not have cracks or faded colors, this male was just "cool". Good light, hello Fabrizio

Buona serata, ciao Fabrizio

Hello John, thanks for the compliment. The difference between the male and the female is on the top of the wings and on the bottom you see in the picture. In this photo we can because the terminal protruding abdomen that has the "tuft" typical only of males. Good evening, hello Fabrizio
