Zona estremamente rocciosa sul versante meridionale del Colle dell' Izoard, descritto da alcuni come lunare. La strada è stata aperta dal generale Baron-Berge, al quale è stato dedicato il memoriale eretto nel 1934. Praticamente di fronte a questo monumento due targhe sono fissate sulla roccia alla gloria di Louison Bobet e di Fausto Coppi.
