Villa del Principe, la più vasta e sontuosa dimora nobiliare della città di Genova, la Villa dell'unico Principe che Genova abbia mai avuto. Era il 1529 quando Andrea Doria, valente ammiraglio e uomo d'armi leggendario, diede il via ai lavori che avrebbero portato alla costruzione di questo meraviglioso palazzo affacciato sul Golfo di Genova. Questo sarebbe divenuto il luogo di pace al rientro dai suoi innumerevoli viaggi e la dimora prescelta per i suoi successori: la famiglia Doria Pamphilj. Qui, durante le sue visite ufficiali sarebbe stato ospitato l'imperatore Carlo V, lo stesso dal quale Andrea Doria era riuscito ad ottenere l'indipendenza di Genova dall'impero, divenendo di fatto il signore della città.
